Gimme that Old Time Religion.
Jun. 9th, 2010 10:03 pmSo, guess who else was on board the Mavi Marmara, the ship most known for the 9 Turks who won Darwin Awards trying repel an IDF boarding party last week.
The Reverend Archbishop Hilarion Capucci.
Who, you might ask? He is an archbishop of the Melkite Church, which holds services in the Syriac language and uses Orthodox liturgy while at the same time being in communion with the Roman Catholic Church. One of the distinguishing features of the Melkite Church is the fiery opposition the church leaders mounted against the 1964 liberal plot to get Catholics to stop calling Jews "Christ-killers", also known as Nostra Aetate.
As Jesus said, you shall know a tree by its fruit. The reverend Capucci spent the 1970's using his limousine to smuggle arms and explosives to the PLO, knowing full well they were to be used to murder Jewish civilians. He was caught, tried, convicted, and imprisoned for it. He openly admits he did it. And he has never repented it.
So, if you ever wonder why 50 years after Vatican II there are still so many Jews holding the Roman Catholic Church in the deepest suspicion and contempt, bear in mind that even though the Catholic religion requires obedience to the Holy See, said See has never seen fit to use this to extract a public show of repentance from Capucci, for his repeated acts of complicity in outright murder.
And, before calling that flotilla to Gaza a humanitarian mission, ask yourself why that scumbag was on board.
